Okay, so we lost the game....
But it was quite a party.
And a great game, anyway! Our Eagles played a great game! They looked like they belonged in the Superbowl. A win would have been great...but so was having a team to be proud of.
You could see the game from pretty much every vantage point.
Let's see....there was the big-screen TV in the den. Of course, we put that on top of a table so that every seat in the room was a good one. The opposite end of the den had a 35-inch TV on top of an armoire so you could face in either direction in the room and see a screen.
Then the living room had one.
The dining room had a TV at the buffet table.
The office had a TV if you wanted to get away from it all....
And the carport had a projection screen...not really sure how big the picture was. But you could see the game clearly from the cul-de-sac if that tells you anything.
We had chili and barbecue...way too much of it actually. Munchies everywhere. And we topped it off with hot fudge sundae cake.
The carport was carpeted with astroturf marked with white tape like a football field. And we had a propane heater burning to keep us warm. The patio also had the firepit going with a roaring fire. We hung out until the wee hours roasting marshmallows and giving Lamont a hard time. Poor Lamont. He was the resident Patriots' fan. He sure made it alot of fun. Cayce wasn't too sure about him, though. When he arrived she asked her Daddy, "Why did Uncle Wade let a Patriots' fan come to the party?" :) Daddy explained football is just a game...but we're not sure she believed him.
I guess we can keep Lamont, though. He was kind enough to step out of the house before he let loose with a scream when the Pats won!

Getting Ready for Game Day
No one here understands.
We love living in Greensboro, NC...but when you show up at work with a manicure in Eagles green and black with a silver stripe...they just don't get it for some reason! But how could they? The Panthers franchise just isn't old enough to have inspired the same level of insanity that is inbred in the Philadelphia fan. You know...that little voice that tells you that your 7-foot blow up Eagles guy belongs on the front porch. And that the face decals will look just perfect! And that the chip and dip bowl in the shape of an Eagles helmet isn't over the top! And just knowing in the bottom of your heart that you can never have too many bobble heads.
So it's the Friday before the BIG GAME
We started cooking last night.
It's a big deal because the only game Wade got to this year was the Eagles v. Redskins in D.C.
We've moved countless pieces of furniture around my house to fit as many people as possible. We're expecting about 50 people at our Superbowl party. We'll have 5 different TVs set up to view the game from just about every room in the house!
Some of the folks coming are Patriots fans.
Some are Carolina fans.
Some are Brits who probably don't understand football very well but are always game for a good party!
But all are welcome.
Hopefully the house will still be standing come Monday! We might not be...so we're taking the day off!!!!!!!!
Pictures will be forthcoming..........GO EAGLES!!!!!!
